Designer: Anne Nesmith
Anne Nesmith has been a wig and makeup artist for various opera, theatre and ballet companies across the country including Santa Fe Opera, Opera Theatre of St. Louis and the Virginia Opera and comes to Baltimore after 5 years with The Dallas Opera. She has built wigs for the Metropolitan Opera and The Greenbird on Broadway directed by Julie Taymor. Her designs have been seen locally at the Washington Ballet, Olney Theatre Center and Opera Vivente. Anne was born and raised in North Carolina and received her B.S. in Design/Technical Theatre from Syracuse University.

She heads a team of designers who work across the country executing designs for opera and theatre companies. From the extensive BOC Wig stock, we are able to create full-scale productions as well as detailed pieces for intimate venues. We also create personal pieces for artists who wish to own their own wigs. These pictures from the 50th Anniversary season are a varietal sampling of the designs. We have also created very stylized and modern designs.

Full wig rental packages are available on a per wig/pieces rental basis, plus security deposit, shipping & handling. The following are the wig rental rates for the 2006-2007 Season:

Lace Front Wigs $75 Hard Front Wigs $50 Pieces & Falls $25 Facial Hair Pieces $25

Designers are contracted separately with each individual company. Referrals are available through Ms. Nesmith and the Wig & Make-up Studio.
