Roberto Oswald
Robert Oswald began his career in opera as Technical Director for the Teatro Col-n in Buenos Aires. He later became Scenic Designer and currently is Director of Productions for the Teatro Col-n. In 1980 Mr. Oswald began working in the triple capacity of stage director, set designer, and lighting designer.
Among the productions he created were Madama Butterfly, Lohengrin, Otello, Benvenuto Cellini, Don Giovanni, Tristan und Isolde, La Gioconda, Il trovatore, Parsifal, Die Zauberflste, and Wagner's Der Ring des Nibelungen. Mr. Oswald has designed and directed for L'OpZra de MontrZal, Opera/Columbus, Portland Opera, The Dallas Opera, Greater Miami Opera (Florida Grand Opera), Florentine Opera Company of Milwaukee, Opera Pacific, The Washington Opera, and Seattle Opera. Mr. Oswald has received numerous awards including the Verdi Society annual prizes for four consecutive years, The Silver Laurel in Santiago, and the Academy of Fine Arts Prize in Buenos Aires. Mr. Oswald received the Konex Prize in 1989 as Director of the Decade.
Mr. Oswald has designed and directed the Baltimore Opera productions of Salome, Don Carlo, Lucia di Lammermoor and Samson et Dalila.

Recent endeavors: Man of La Mancha for the Olney Theatre (nominated for a Helen Hayes Award), Mikado (Pittsburgh Public Theatre), Hay Fever & Born Yesterday for Asolo Theatre; Constant Wife & Three Days of Rain (Westport Playhouse, director Joanne Woodward), Cosi Fan Tutte, The Marriage of Figaro, and Rigoletto (Kentucky Opera), Pirates of Penzance (Malabar Limited) Christmas Carol (Virginia Stage), Crash the Curiosaurus (ABC-TV), and A House Divided (Tennessee Repertory).
Anibal Lapiz
Designer Anibal Lapiz began his career working with Roberto Oswald in Buenos Aires. Among their collaborations are Nabucco, HSnsel und Gretel, Otello, TannhSuser, Das Rheingold, Benvenuto Cellini and Norma.
Recent costume designs have included La traviata, Turandot, Il trovatore, and L'italiana in Algieri for Santiago, Chile; Der Ring des Nibelungen for the Dallas Opera; Tristan und Isolde and I Puritani for L'OpZra MontrZal, and Elektra and Der fliegende HollSnder for Teatro Col-n.
Mr. Lapiz has designed the costumes for the Baltimore Opera productions of Salome, Don Carlo, Lucia di Lammermoor, Samson et Dalila and Les Pcheurs de Perles. His costumes for Salome were voted Best of the Season in 1989.
