Special Benefit Concert for the BOC
World renowned soprano Renée Fleming will perform a gala concert of operatic arias to benefit the Baltimore Opera Company. Miss Fleming thrills audiences with a voice described as the “gold standard of soprano sound,” a meticulous and dazzling gift for characterization, and a rare stylistic versatility. Maestra Ya Hui Wang will conduct the Baltimore Opera Orchestra.

Renée Fleming is recognized by her peers, journalists and the public as one to the great artists of our era. Miss Fleming’s superb artistry has garnered universal acclaim for her live performances in virtually in all of the world’s prominent opera house in both standard and non-traditional repertoire, extensive recital and concert performances, and recordings (eight time Grammy nominee, two time winner). She is one of the most successful, versatile and progressive classical recording artists in the world, a published author, and has received numerous life time achievement awards.
Conductor Ya Hui Wang, the former Music Director of the Evergreen Symphony Orchestra in Taipei and Akron Symphony Orchestra in Ohio, is a graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music and the Peabody Conservatory. The Baltimore Opera Orchestra will appear onstage to accompany Miss Fleming. Concert repertoire will be announced at a later date.
