From the General Director
Dear Friends,
The success of our wonderful art form depends on the education of our present and future audiences. For over 50 years, the Baltimore Opera Company has been committed to the most active forms of outreach and education in the community, and it is one of my imperatives and joys to continue this invaluable service to the Baltimore region. Opera, the highest form of art, can enhance the quality of life for us on many levels-from the pure enjoyment of the music and drama to the basic truths of living found within the immortal stories and music.
To many, opera is a foreign entity. This is certainly not true, and we hope that this Guide will help you understand and appreciate all aspects of our productions.
We extend our gratitude and appreciation to those individuals and corporations who have supported and believed in our Education and Outreach programs, their staunch support guarantees the future of our great art form.
Sempre Avanti,
Michael Harrison
